Principal's Welcome

It is with great joy and gratitude that I welcome you to the Sacred Heart family! Our Catholic primary school may be modest in size, but it has a big heart—filled with warmth, compassion, and a deep commitment to excellence in education.

Sacred Heart is a Kindergarten to Year 6 coeducational Catholic school, currently home to 210 students from 160 families, with an average class size of 21. We primarily serve Mary Help of Christians Parish, South Woden—covering Chifley, Farrer, Isaacs, Mawson, Pearce, and Torrens—but, subject to availability, also welcome students from other areas.

Our school is set in spacious, well-maintained grounds, offering students a range of play areas, including grassed and hard-top spaces, climbing equipment, handball courts, a hall, and a library. Recent refurbishments have further modernised our facilities, enhancing learning opportunities for all students.

At Sacred Heart, we believe in the power of community, where every member is valued and respected. We foster an environment that nurtures not only academic excellence but also character, empathy, and a strong sense of shared values.

Our dedicated team of Catholic educators is committed to inspiring curiosity and a love for learning. We strive to create a safe and supportive space where every child can flourish—academically, socially, and spiritually.

As Principal, I am excited to walk this journey with you, working together to shape the future of our students. Whether you are new to our community or have been with us for generations, your presence enriches the fabric of Sacred Heart.

We warmly welcome enquiries from families seeking a Catholic education and look forward to sharing the difference a Sacred Heart education can make for your child.

God bless, David Austin - Principal
