Last term the Mini Vinnies group held a pyjama day at Sacred Heart to raise money to buy gifts for the Vinnies Christmas Appeal. Over the last few weeks, the group have been carefully selecting some wonderful gifts to donate to children in our community. They bought sporting equipment, craft kits and stationery, puzzles, board games and plush toys. These will be dropped off on directly to Vinnies HQ on Thursday, ready to wrap and be given out in time for Christmas.
The Mini Vinnies have also been busy collecting all the generous food donations our wonderful school community has brought in. The last day for donations is on Friday 2nd December.
On behalf of the Mini Vinnies group, we would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank you for your on-going support throughout the year.
Parent Representative
We are calling for nominations for a Parent Representative for each class for 2023. The Class Parent Rep will liaise with the classroom teacher and the Community Council Parent Rep Coordinator.
The role is very flexible but often entails:
- Managing a class contact group
- Arranging age appropriate catch-ups for families to meet each other
- Support chain if a family in the class needs a helping hand
- Something special for the teacher’s birthday
- Supporting the school in communicating with parents about special events
If you are interested in continuing with the role, taking it on or even sharing it with someone, please talk with Anne Staines or Danielle Hartnett (2022 CC Parent Rep Coordinator).
School Sport
It’s a fantastic time of year to start thinking about how students can make the transition from school sport to sporting clubs with many local sporting organisations now taking registrations for summer. To promote club sport to families in our SHPS community please find below the link to help students make the move from school to club sport. We encourage you to use the Sporting Schools Find a Club page, where parents can explore more than 35 sports and find a club in their local area for your child to get engaged and start a lifelong love of sport. With so many options, there is something for everyone!

Congratulations
The Sacred Heart community wishes to acknowledge and congratulate two of our Year 6 students who have recently represented the Australian Capital Territory at a national level.
Mia Buser and Olivia Galang were both members of the BRONZE winning U/12 ACT touch football team that competed in Wagga Wagga earlier this month.
Additionally, Olivia Galang also represented ACT at the Australian Primary School Championship in Brisbane in recent weeks. Olivia competed in the U/12 800m, 1500m and 800m sprint medley relay. Olivia performed exceptionally well, achieving a SILVER medal in the 800m, 6th in the 1500m and 4th in the relay.
We are so proud of you girls, for the grit and determination you show in order to achieve your goals.
Twilight Fair
What an amazing evening everyone had at our Twilight Fair. The weather was perfect. The atmosphere was joyful. The smiles on faces were huge. A massive shoutout to all the helpers, commitee, and staff.
