Feast of the Assumption
Our school hosted the parish mass on Monday for the Feast of the Assumption. This significant feast day celebrates the extraordinary person of Mary - the pure love she brings to the world through being the mother of our Lord Jesus. Father Richard reminded the children, that we do not pray to Mary, rather we ask Mary to pray for us, to take our prayers to God. History has proven the power of invoking Mary’s intercession through prayer.
After the mass, a number of parishioners approached staff to praise our students for how wonderfully and reverently they participated. Thanks to Mrs Imbriano and our senior students for preparing the mass. We are so proud of our school. We nurtured hearts on Monday!

Today we practised our Lockdown procedures.

Tournament of the Minds
With one week to go, our TOMs team is working very hard to prepare their ten-minute performance to solve the challenge.
They are using their research, creativity, collaboration and time-management skills to solve the following ARTS challenge:
Who Are You? A mystery person has elaborately painted arms, they are wearing an interesting piece of jewellery and are dressed in a fabric that appears to be representative of a culture. Your team will use the clues to identify who this person is, where they have come from and the secret message that is hidden within their adornments.
Chess Club
Chess club has moved to Tuesday lunchtimes. We welcome back Jordan as the coach.
If your child is interested in taking part, you can email for a copy of the enrolment form and details of cost. For all enquiries, please contact Sydney Academy of Chess on (02) 9745 1170.
Yours faithfully,

Open Classroom Invitation (in lieu of our traditional Father's Day activities)
On Friday 2nd September, we would like to invite our Sacred Heart families to another open classroom to celebrate the wonderful learning of the students. In particular, we would like to welcome fathers and father figures as an acknowledgement of the special role they have in their child’s life. We are unable to have a mass this year, as Fr. Richard will be away; therefore, the open classrooms are a way of creating an occasion for the students to connect with their families.
Date: Friday 2nd September 8am-8:45am
Guides: Your child(ren) will be your guide. They may take you to any classroom around the school. Please avoid the Hall as YMCA will be hosting before school care. It is the children’s choice as to what they want to show you. Some teachers may be around, but any specific questions about your child’s learning should be discussed at an interview time.
Social distancing: Please enter through the front doors at the Front Office, so we are aware of the number of people in the building. QR codes will be available but are not mandatory. Please maintain 1.5m between family groups and if a room or area is crowded, please visit another room first.
Would your child make a wonderful altar server?
Fr Richard will be holding Altar Server Training at the Church on Saturday 17th September between 9am and 10am. For more information please see the link below or EMAIL the Church Office for a registration form.
