Dear Parents and Carers,
2021 has not been an easy year for many of us at Sacred Heart, with tragedy and loss of the deepest kind but once again in the true nature of SHPS we have looked out for each other and found the nurturing power of this wonderful community.
We extend our thanks and appreciation for your support and wish you a peaceful and joy filled Christmas.
Take care over the holiday break and we look forward to seeing you in the new year.
For those children and families leaving us at the end of the year we wish you every blessing and thank you for the gift of your presence. We will miss you.
The first day for children in 2022 is Monday 31st January.
For those members of our community planning the year ahead we have pupil free days on Tuesday 26th April and Monday 18th July.
We hope you have been able to enjoy this years virtual Christmas Carols.

Position Vacant: Gardener/grounds person.
Our parish of Mary Help of Christians is seeking interest for the position of gardener/grounds person to commence work in February 2022.

- 260 people are now welcome to regular Mass times, masks are encouraged but are no longer mandatory.

Friday 24 Dec Christmas Eve:
6pm – Children’s Mass at Marist College Canberra; bookings are required for this mass per current government guidelines. Try Booking will go live 1 December 2021 at this link: https://www.trybooking.com/BVSYF.
9pm Vigil Mass at the Church; no booking required.
No Midnight Mass this year
Christmas Day: Christmas Masses at the Church – 8.30am and 10am; no bookings required for masses at the Church.
Please note the Parish Office will be closed starting 23 December 2021 and reopen on 12 January 2022.
MHOC 2022 First Reconciliation and First Holy Communion Sacramental Programme enrolment window will open 19 Jan 2022. This programme is open to children baptised Catholic in Year 4 and above. Please see attached letter and MHOC website for details.
Are you needing to purchase uniform items for 2022?
We ask all students to be in the correct summer uniform to start school in 2022. Please refer to our uniform policy on the website if you are unsure of our requirements.
Uniform ordering during January
- Option 1. Tracey will have uniform orders ready to pick up from 1 - 3pm Friday 28th January. If you wish to order uniforms for pickup on that day, please have your order placed on Qkr! by 5pm Thursday 27th. Please come to the canteen window facing Murphy St to avoid entering the building.
- Option 2. Tracey will be open again between 8.30 -9.30am on Monday 31st January for pickup. Please have orders placed on Qkr! By 5pm Sunday 30th January. Please come to the canteen window facing Murphy St to avoid entering the building.
- Option 3. If you are unable to pick up the pieces, they will be delivered to your child’s classroom.
Needing to try on uniform items?
- Option 4. Ring the office before the end of the term to make an appointment before the end of term. Limited places available.
- Option 5. If we can have adults in the building at the end of January, we will open bookings. Keep an eye out for a SZapp notice.

The Staff at Sacred Heart Primary would like to thank you for your support in 2021 and wish everyone a merry Christmas and a safe and happy New Year. Playgroup
Playgroup have enjoyed some Christmas activities in the Hall.
We have made elf ears, Christmas trees and had some Christmas stories together.
Little Hearts Playgroup will be back next year on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 11am with an exciting and educational program for 2 – 4 year olds and their parents or carers.
Places are limited so be sure to ring the school office to book in.
