New hopes, new dreams, new memories
Dear Parents and Carers,
As everyone returns to school and begins anew for 2021, we are encouraging our children to be people of hope, with attainable dreams and ready to confidently create new 2021 memories.
On Monday each SHPS child will receive a bookmark created with love and enthusiasm by Mrs B (Student Welfare Officer) and her enthusiastic and generous team. This will highlight our way forward and celebrate being back together in community.
Our focus will recognise the importance of wellbeing and acknowledge that children’s learning stamina may have diminished.
Once again, we send out to all families a huge thank you for your work and support over the last 10 weeks. We are truly grateful to belong to such a wonderful community.
Semester 2 Reporting
Reports
Due to the unusual circumstances, SHPS reports will show grading in Religious Education, English and Mathematics only. The reports will be available electronically through the COMPASS Parent Portal in Week 10.
The Parent/Teacher Interviews
We encourage all parents/carers to make the time for an online parent/teacher interview with your child/ren’s teacher during Week 8. This will be a time to recognise the contribution and observations of parents during remote learning. Together teachers and parents will discuss and celebrate learning successes and develop goals for the remainder of the year. Students will contribute to this conversation by reflecting on their learning prior to the interview (similar to Semester 1. Interview bookings will open in a couple of weeks.
Children’s Week
At SHPS we are blest to work with amazing children
They are a gift who bring joy and happiness every day
Let us take a moment this day to give thanks for their
curiosity, wonder and awe.
World Teacher’ Day
God of Love,
Thank you for every teacher who
notices a child’s special gift
listens and gently guides
expects much and loves enough to demand more.
Thank you for the special teacher each one of us remembers.
Take care and keep safe

Absent Notes
If your child has been absent from school or remote learning, please send an absent note as soon as possible, so that we can record an explanation, rather than an Absent without Approval.
Many parents would have received an email reminder with details of your child’s absent dates. Look for an email from Compass Chronicle - compass@compass.email.
Students Not Returning in 2022
To help in preparing for classes for 2022, we kindly ask that if your child/children will not be returning in 2022, to please fill out and return the attached form as soon as possible.
Ride Safely to School Week 8 – 12 November, 2021
Ride Safely to School Week has been developed to give schools the opportunity to reinforce safety messages around cycling while encouraging students to ride to school.
We recognise the importance of kids getting the recommended 60mins of physical activity everyday, and that while riding your bike it’s just as important to be safe on the streets.
Prayer and Reflection Resources
These prayer and reflection resources are for all families to find comfort, connection to faith and reassurance in these unsettling times. We encourage our school community to set aside time for personal and family prayer.
