Dear Parents and Carers,
Welcome back to Term 4. We are looking forward to welcoming you all back in the next few weeks. It was wonderful to see familiar faces when parents, carers and friends picked up the learning packs last week. We know that many families were grateful over the holidays for the break from remote learning and the pressures it can place on those who are also trying to work from home.
During the break, like many others in Canberra I took joy in focusing on the small things we were able to do. One day I took a walk with a couple of friends on the track around Mount Rogers and had the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of this place in which we are blessed to live.
We are preparing and will be sending out information about the transition from remote learning to face-to-face when we have more certainty from ACT Health and Catholic Education. Included in this will be information about Kindergarten Orientation. We know that returning to school will be very different for each family and every child.
The Month of the Rosary
October is the month of the Rosary and today we celebrate Our Lady of the Rosary. When I was growing up this was the prayer that families said together. This maybe you could put aside time to share this beautiful and powerful prayer.
Take care and keep safe
REMINDERS AND IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Big Win for our Tournament of the Minds Team
Olivia, Logan, Tadi, Charlotte, Emelyn, Imogen and Mia worked all last term to be part of this competition. They switched from face-to-face meetings to online meetings when we went into lockdown and kept going. They created their challenge solution and recorded both parts of the challenge via Teams. Judging took place during the holidays. We were awarded 1st place in the ACT Language/Literature challenge.
Now we represent ACT in the national finals on the 16th of October. In normal times we would have been flying to Perth to compete! However, this year will be an online event. They will train over the next two weeks with Mrs Wode and Mrs Filardo to prepare for the new style of competition.
Congratulations team on your win. We wish you all the best as you compete in the national finals.
Prayer and Reflection Resources
These prayer and reflection resources are for all families to find comfort, connection to faith and reassurance in these unsettling times. We encourage our school community to set aside time for personal and family prayer.

Absent Notes
If your child has been absent from school or remote learning, please send an absent note as soon as possible, so that we can record an explanation, rather than an Absent without Approval.
Many parents would have received an email reminder with details of your child’s absent dates. Look for an email from Compass Chronicle - compass@compass.email.

Please keep an eye out for notifications about clothing pool. We are working towards opening summer uniform orders and pickups next week.
