What is Be You and why is it so important for our school community?
Be You (formerly Kidsmatter) is a collaboration between teachers and families focused on the mental wellbeing of our students, parents and carers. The Be You Action Team work from the results of specially designed surveys to identify and plan school initiatives aimed at fostering connection and support. Since the last survey the committee has worked to improve avenues for school communication, introduce feedback surveys, include Harmony Day in our community celebrations and build our achievement wall.
We will be conducting the next round of surveys starting next Thursday 16th May. The Be You Action Team encourages you to participate and share your thoughts and ideas. Your input is invaluable to maintaining a strong school community. We also invite new parents and carers to join the Action Team. Please see Week 3 newsletter and SZapp for the survey link and the next Be You meeting date.

Friday the 17th May is Walk Safely to School Day. This is a national event run by the Physical Activity Foundation and aims to promote road safety, health, public transport and the environment.
Everyone is encouraged walk or ride to school from our usual meeting points throughout the suburb at 8am. If you would like to know where we meet there is a large map in the Front Office that details the meeting locations and the route we take.
This is a community event and parents are encouraged to get involved and boost their step count and set a good example for their children by participating as well. If you would prefer to walk from somewhere else other than our four meeting points you are more than welcome.
Participants will be greeted with a sticker and some party tunes when they get to school. Your body and the environment will thank you too!
Our next 50th Anniversary Committee Meeting will be held on the 22nd May at 6:30pm in the Italian Room. We also invite new members to join. Please come along with any ideas or suggestions to help celebrate this milestone. Alternatively, you can also email Sacredheart50anniversay@hotmail.com

Actsmart Schools Easter Foil Recycling Challenge
From Actsmart to Sacred Heart Primary School
Thank you for participating the in Easter Foil recycling challenge with Actsmart Schools.
As you’re aware foil that is not rolled into a ball larger than a fist, usually ends up in landfill.
Your school was one of 7 that demonstrated that you understood this and did a particularly good job at making Easter egg foil balls. As a token of our appreciation and in celebration of your schools recycling knowledge we will be sending you a gift. I will provide more details on this in the near future.
In total, 21 Primary Schools registered and over 10 thousand students participated. As result of all of your efforts 44.55kg of Easter egg foil has been saved from landfill. This is HUGE. Congratulations!
