Parents are invited to attend Morning Assembly on the blacktop each morning at 9.00am.

Appointments with Teachers

To contact class teachers please use the following format for most teachers Email address can also be found on our website under 'Staff'. To contact your child's teacher please send an email directly to them. Teachers are not able to accept calls during class time. Teachers will send a reply email as soon as they can but please keep in mind that staff have duty at various times of the day so they are not always available at recess and lunch times.  

Parent Helpers

Parent helpers are always welcome at Sacred Heart Primary School. This can take the form of listening to students read; participating in craft activities; providing help during excursions and camps; assisting in sports activities, including the coaching and management of school sporting teams; and assisting with the Sacramental programs. We are always looking for ways to include the talents of our wider community in our curriculum to enrich the learning of our students. Please contact the school if you have time, skills or experiences you can share with our students.

Working with Vulnerable People

New legislation has been introduced in the ACT and all people working with children need to apply for a Working with Vulnerable People card. This is photo Identification for people wishing to work as a volunteer in school. Please complete the Working with Vulnerable People form and take the completed form to any ACT Canberra Connect Shopfront. As from November 2013 it will be compulsory for all volunteers to have this completed and a copy held on file at the school and to carry their WWVP when helping in the school.

Class Parent Representatives

Each class at Sacred Heart Primary School has a parent or parents whose role is to be the point of contact between staff and parents to keep parents informed of upcoming class and school activities, building a sense of community. They plan social events and coordinate pastoral care activities. All parents are welcome to become involved.

School Community Council

Our parent represenative body is the School Community Council. This year meetings are held on the first Tuesday of each month at 7.30pm. New members or interested parents are welcome to come along. More details an be found on the Community Council page.

Working Bees

Working bees are conducted several times a year to make improvements to the grounds and facilities at the school. As all students benefit from the improvement to grounds and facilities all parents are encouraged to attend.
